Nesbyen Station

Nesbyen Station (Norwegian: Nesbyen stasjon) is a railway station located in the town of Nesbyen, within Nes municipality in Viken county, Norway. The station lies on the Bergen Line (Bergensbanen), the main railway corridor connecting Oslo and Bergen. It was opened in 1907 as part of the original construction of the line.

The facility is owned by Bane NOR, the state-owned company responsible for the Norwegian railway infrastructure, and train services are operated by Vy (formerly Norges Statsbaner). Nesbyen Station serves regional and intercity passenger trains that run between Oslo and Bergen, providing the primary rail access for the local community and surrounding areas.

The station typically features two platforms and basic passenger amenities such as a waiting shelter and ticket vending machines. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 180 metres above sea level, though precise elevation data varies among sources. Accessibility is provided in accordance with Norwegian railway standards, including step‑free access to the platforms.

Nesbyen Station functions as a local transport hub, connecting rail passengers to regional bus services and offering parking facilities for private vehicles. It plays a role in facilitating commuter travel, tourism, and freight operations within the Hallingdal valley region.
