Navdeep Poonia (born 22 May 1985) is a former Canadian cricketer who represented the Canada national cricket team as a right‑hand batsman and occasional right‑arm medium‑pace bowler. He was born in Pathankot, Punjab, India, and later emigrated to Canada, where he qualified to play international cricket.
International career
Poonia made his debut for Canada in a One Day International (ODI) against Bangladesh on 30 June 2007. He subsequently featured in several ICC tournaments, including the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division One and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup held in the Indian subcontinent. Across his ODI career, he played a total of 7 matches, scoring 84 runs at an average of 12.00, with a highest score of 31. He also bowled intermittently, delivering 30 balls without taking a wicket.
Domestic and league involvement
Domestically, Poonia participated in Canadian provincial competitions and was a member of the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club (TCSCC) team. He also played in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) development circuits, though he did not feature in the main CPL squads.
Post‑playing career
