Narangi is a Hindi and Urdu word for the color orange, and also for the fruit orange. It is derived from the Sanskrit word naranga, which itself is believed to have originated from a Dravidian language. The word eventually made its way into Persian and Arabic, influencing the name of the fruit and its color in various languages across the world.
