Nans Peters

Nans Peters (born March 12, 1994) is a French professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale. Known for his aggressive riding style and ability to win from breakaways, Peters has achieved notable stage victories in two of cycling's Grand Tours.

Career

Peters began his professional career with the Chambéry Cyclisme Formation, the development team for AG2R La Mondiale, in 2015. He moved up to the senior AG2R La Mondiale squad (now Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) in 2017, where he quickly established himself as a valuable domestique and a rider capable of seizing opportunities.

His breakthrough came in the 2019 Giro d'Italia, where he claimed his first Grand Tour stage win on Stage 17. Peters launched a solo attack from a breakaway on the final climb, holding off the chasing group to take a memorable victory.

The following year, he repeated this feat at his home Grand Tour, the 2020 Tour de France. On Stage 8, a mountainous route through the Pyrénées, Peters once again rode clear from a large breakaway group, attacking on the Port de Balès and descending to the finish line in Loudenvielle alone for his second Grand Tour stage win.

Peters is characterized by his tactical acumen in breakaways, strong climbing ability on medium mountains, and tenacity, making him a consistent presence in long-range attacks and a rider capable of surprising the peloton.
