Naimabad (Persian: نعیمآباد, also Romanized as Na‘īmābād) is a village in the Fahraj Rural District, within the Central District of Fahraj County, Kerman Province, Iran. It forms part of the administrative hierarchy of Iran, being located in the southern part of Kerman Province and falling under the jurisdiction of Fahraj County, which was established as an independent county separate from Bam County in recent administrative reorganizations.
Geographically, Naimabad is situated in a region characterized by an arid climate typical of the broader Kerman area, with limited precipitation and a landscape dominated by desert plains and occasional agricultural plots that rely on irrigation. The village’s infrastructure and settlement pattern are consistent with small rural communities in the province, featuring residential dwellings, a local mosque, and basic public facilities that serve its inhabitants.
According to the national census conducted by the Statistical Center of Iran in 2006, Naimabad was recorded as having a population of 205 individuals residing in 46 families. Subsequent census data have not been widely published, and thus current demographic figures are not readily available in publicly accessible sources.
The toponym “Naimabad” derives from Persian components: “Naim” (نعیم), a personal name meaning “comfort” or “bliss,” and the suffix “‑abad” (آباد), which denotes a cultivated or inhabited place. Consequently, the name can be interpreted as “the settlement of Naim” or “the place of comfort.” This naming convention is common throughout Iran, where many villages and towns bear the “‑abad” suffix attached to the name of a founder or a distinguished individual.
Naimabad does not host notable historical monuments or events that have been documented in major academic or historical references. The village’s significance is primarily local, revolving around agricultural activities, community life, and its role within the administrative structure of Fahraj County.
