Nafusa Mountains

Etymology
The name “Nafusa” derives from the Arabic جَبَل النَّافُسَة‎ (Jabal al‑Nāfasa), meaning “the Mountain of Nafusa.” The term is also associated with the indigenous Amazigh (Berber) population, who refer to the region as “Adrar n Nefusa.”

Geography
The Nafusa Mountains constitute a north‑west‑to‑south‑east oriented chain of low mountains in western Libya, approximately 150 km (93 mi) long and 30 km (19 mi) wide.
