NOAAS Oscar Dyson (R 224) is a United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) fisheries research vessel. Built by VT Halter Marine in Pascagoula, Mississippi, the ship was launched in 2004 and entered NOAA service in 2005.

Namesake
The ship is named after Oscar E. Dyson (1913–1995), a noted Alaskan fisherman and advocate for scientific research in the Bering Sea. Dyson’s contributions to the development of modern fisheries science were honored by NOAA through the vessel’s naming.
Service history
Since commissioning, NOAAS Oscar Dyson has completed annual spring and summer research cruises, typically operating out of the NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center in Seattle, Washington. The vessel has contributed to numerous stock assessment reports, including the highly cited assessments for the Bering Sea pollock fishery.

- Conducted a comprehensive acoustic survey of Bering Sea groundfish habitats.
