Myobiomima is a genus of parasitoid flies in the family Tachinidae. It is a monotypic genus, containing only the species Myobiomima longimana Townsend, 1926.
Taxonomy
The genus was described by the American entomologist Charles Henry Tyler Townsend in 1926. The type species is Myobiomima longimana.
Distribution
The sole species, Myobiomima longimana, is known from high-elevation localities in Sumatra, Indonesia.
Biology
As members of the family Tachinidae, flies in this genus are endoparasitoids. They typically lay eggs on or in host arthropods, with the larvae developing internally and eventually killing the host. The genus is classified within the subfamily Tachininae and the tribe Leskiini.
