Background
The EP was released as a tribute to DaBaby's older brother, Glenn Johnson, who died by suicide on November 3, 2020, at the age of 34. Johnson died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was survived by four children. The title references the phrase "my brother's keeper," and the "G" in the title stands for Glenn Johnson. The opening track, "Brother's Keeper," directly addresses the relationship between the two siblings, and the track "Gucci Peacoat" features a spoken conversation between DaBaby and his late brother.
