Mount Markab is a striking mountain in Antarctica noted for its pointed peak, which serves as a prominent landmark on the continent’s western coast. The summit rises on the north side of the Pegasus Mountains, approximately 10 nautical miles (19 km) northeast of Gurney Point in Palmer Land. Its geographic coordinates are 70°56′ S, 67°02′ W.
The mountain was named by the UK Antarctic Place‑Names Committee after Markab, a star in the constellation Pegasus. This naming follows a convention of assigning astronomical names to features within the Pegasus Mountain range.
