Mount Archer is a prominent mountain, approximately 2,100 meters (6,900 ft) high, situated in the Queen Elizabeth Range of the Transantarctic Mountains. It is located about 5 nautical miles (9 km) south of Mount Sandved.
The mountain was discovered and mapped by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) of 1961–62. It was named by the New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee (NZ-ACAN) in honor of Dr. V. Archer, a member of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (CTAE) of 1957–58. The Queen Elizabeth Range itself is a major mountain range forming part of the Transantarctic Mountains, extending for about 160 km between Nimrod Glacier and Lowery Glacier.
