Morrison Gets a Baby Sister (Dutch: Morrison krijgt een zusje) is a 2008 Dutch family comedy-drama film directed by Barbara Bredero, produced by Burny Bos, and written by Sjoerd Kuyper. The film was released in the Netherlands by Warner Bros. Pictures on 23 April 2008.

Synopsis

The story follows five-year-old Morrison Glas, a spirited and imaginative boy who lives with his mother Nina (a veterinarian) and his father Steven (a mechanic). When his mother becomes pregnant, Morrison mishears a conversation and draws the mistaken conclusion that after his baby sister is born, he will be sent away to live with his religious aunt at a monastery. Believing he is about to be displaced, Morrison devises various schemes to get rid of his newborn sister, Simone. The situation escalates when Morrison runs away from home after the baby arrives — and takes his newborn sister with him.

Production

Release and Reception

The film was released theatrically on 23 April 2008 and grossed over $670,833 at the box office. It received positive reviews from critics. The film was released on DVD by Warner Home Video on 10 September 2008. It has a runtime of 71 minutes and is in the Dutch language.
