Moore House (Little Rock, Arkansas)

The Moore House is a historic residence located at 1221 Louisiana Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. Built in 1891, it is a prominent example of Queen Anne style architecture within the city.

The house was constructed for and originally owned by Junius P. Moore, a prominent cotton broker and businessman in Little Rock. Its design showcases many characteristic features of the Queen Anne style, including a complex roofline with gables and turrets, varied exterior textures (such as cut shingles and clapboard), ornate spindlework, and a wraparound porch. The asymmetrical facade and projecting bays further contribute to its distinctive Victorian appearance.

Over the decades, the Moore House has maintained much of its architectural integrity, serving as a well-preserved example of late 19th-century residential design in Arkansas. Its historical and architectural significance led to its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The house remains a private residence, contributing to the historic character of the surrounding downtown Little Rock neighborhood.
