Mircea Anca

Mircea Anca (10 November 1960 – 28 June 2015) was a Romanian actor and theatre director. He was recognized for his work on stage at the National Theatre Bucharest and for appearances in Romanian film and television productions.

Early life and education
Mircea Anca was born in Bucharest, Romania. He pursued formal training in dramatic arts at the Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film, from which he graduated in the early 1980s.

Career
After completing his studies, Anca joined the ensemble of the National Theatre Bucharest, where he performed in a range of classical and contemporary productions. His stage repertoire included works by Shakespeare, Ibsen, and Romanian playwrights. In addition to his theatrical work, Anca acted in several Romanian films and television series throughout the 1990s and 2000s, contributing to the post‑communist era of Romanian cinema. He also directed theatre productions, applying his experience as a performer to guide ensembles in both classic and modern works.

Teaching
Anca held a teaching position at his alma mater, the Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film, where he instructed courses in acting and stagecraft, mentoring a new generation of Romanian performers.

Personal life and death
Mircea Anca was married and had children. He remained based in Bucharest throughout his career. Anca died on 28 June 2015 in Bucharest after a battle with cancer.

Legacy
Anca is remembered for his contributions to Romanian theatre and film, as well as for his role as an educator. His performances are cited in retrospectives of Romanian stage history, and his former students continue to acknowledge his influence on their artistic development.
