Mirandiba is a municipality located in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. It is situated in the Sertão Pernambucano region, approximately 400 km west of the state capital, Recife. According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the municipality had an estimated population of 27,041 inhabitants in 2022 and covers an area of about 1,711 km².
History
The settlement that would become Mirandiba originated in the early 19th century as a cattle‑herding outpost. It was officially recognized as a district of the municipality of Carnaubeira da Penha in 1865 and later achieved municipal status on 30 November 1963 by state law.

The population is predominantly of mixed European, Indigenous, and African ancestry, typical of the interior regions of Pernambuco. Portuguese is the official language, and the local dialect incorporates regional lexical items associated with the Sertão.
