Milorad Peković (Serbian Cyrillic: Милорад Пековић; born 5 August 1977) is a Montenegrin former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, and later a football manager.
Early life and club career
Born in Nikšić, SR Montenegro, SFR Yugoslavia (now Montenegro), Peković moved to Serbia as a young boy and began his youth career at FK Obilić in 1987. He later joined OFK Beograd's youth ranks before making his senior debut with the club in 1994. He played for Partizan from 1999 to 2001, making 54 appearances and scoring 5 goals, winning the FR Yugoslavia Cup in 2001. After a brief return to OFK Beograd, he moved to Germany in 2002, joining Eintracht Trier. His most successful spell was with 1. FSV Mainz 05, where he spent five seasons from 2005 to 2010. He subsequently played for SpVgg Greuther Fürth (2010–2013), winning the 2. Bundesliga title in the 2011–12 season, followed by stints at Hansa Rostock (2013–2014) and a return to Eintracht Trier (2014–2015), where he ended his playing career.
International career
Peković made his debut for the Montenegro national team in a September 2007 friendly match against Sweden. He earned a total of 34 caps for Montenegro between 2007 and 2013, scoring no goals. His final international appearance was in an August 2013 friendly against Belarus.
Managerial career
After retiring as a player, Peković transitioned into coaching. He managed the Montenegro U19 national team from 2018 to 2020, followed by FK Podgorica (2020–2021). He later managed Dečić, winning the Montenegrin First League title in the 2023–24 season. In 2025, he briefly managed Greuther Fürth before returning to Montenegro, where he was appointed head coach of Sutjeska in March 2026.
