Early life and education
Milica Pavlović was born in the city of Zaječar, then part of the Socialist Republic of Serbia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. She grew up in a musically inclined family; her father, Momčilo Pavlović, was a folk singer, and her mother, Sonja Pavlović, worked as a music teacher. Pavlović displayed an interest in music from an early age, participating in local choir groups and regional talent contests. She completed secondary education in Zaječar before relocating to Belgrade to pursue a professional music career.

Career

2008–2010: Debut and breakthrough
Pavlović entered the Zvezde Granda competition in 2008, where she performed several folk and pop songs. Although she did not win the competition, her performances attracted the attention of Grand Production, a leading Serbian record label specializing in turbo‑folk music. In 2009, she released her debut single “Moj šef” (My Boss), which entered national charts and secured radio airplay across Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. The single’s success led to her first concert tour in the region.

2011–2014: First studio album and increasing popularity
In 2011, Pavlović released her first full-length album, Govor tela (Body Language), produced by Grand Production. The album featured a blend of pop‑folk melodies, contemporary electronic arrangements, and lyrical themes centered on love, empowerment, and nightlife. Notable tracks included “Gorka čokolada” (Bitter Chocolate) and “Kukavica” (Coward). The album achieved gold certification according to the Serbian Music Industry Association (SMA) and expanded Pavlović’s fan base.
