Miki Del Prete

Miki Del Prete (born May 23, 1935) is an Italian lyricist, record producer, and artistic director, best known for his long-standing professional partnership with the singer and actor Adriano Celentano. Born in Bari as Michele Del Prete, he moved to Milan in the 1950s, where he became a significant figure in the development of the Italian pop and rock music industries.

Del Prete was a founding member and a central figure of Clan Celentano, an independent record label and artistic collective established by Celentano in 1961. Within this organization, Del Prete served not only as a primary songwriter but also as an advisor and talent scout. His work contributed to the success of several artists associated with the label, including Don Backy, I Ribelli, and Claudia Mori.

As a lyricist, Del Prete co-authored some of the most influential songs in the history of Italian popular music. His notable credits include "Il ragazzo della via Gluck" (1966), "La coppia più bella del mondo" (1967), "Una carezza in un pugno" (1968), and the linguistically experimental "Prisencolinensinainciusol" (1972). His writing often incorporated themes ranging from social and environmental commentary to romantic narratives.

Throughout his career, Del Prete maintained a consistent presence in the Italian music scene, frequently collaborating with other prominent songwriters such as Luciano Beretta and Mogol. His contributions are recognized as instrumental in shaping the transition of Italian music toward more modern, international sounds during the 1960s and 1970s.
