Mikhail Yurievich Avdeev (Russian: Михаил Юрьевич Авдеев; born 6 March 1977, Moscow) is a Russian politician and a deputy in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, representing the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).
Biography
Avdeev graduated with honors in marketing from the Moscow University of Consumer Cooperatives in 1998. He later earned a law degree with honors from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in 2010. Prior to his political career, he held various managerial positions at companies in the Moscow region.
Political Career
- 2007: Elected as a deputy of the Moscow Oblast Duma as a member of the Communist Party, where he served as Chairman of the Committee on Economic and Innovation Policy.
- December 2011: Elected to the State Duma of Russia, representing Moscow Oblast. He served as Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Land Relations and Construction.
- October 2018 – January 2020: Returned to the State Duma (7th convocation) after Aleksey Russkikh was appointed to the Federation Council. He resigned his mandate in January 2020.
- September 2021: Re-elected to the 8th State Duma. He currently serves on the Committee on Construction, Housing, and Communal Services, as well as the Commission on Ensuring Housing Rights of Citizens. He also holds the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Construction and is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.
Legislative Activity
From 2011 to 2019, Avdeev co-authored 21 legislative initiatives and amendments to draft federal laws.
Awards
He has received several state and parliamentary honors, including the Certificate of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation, the honorary sign of the State Duma "For Merits in the Development of Parliamentarism," and various badges of honor from the Moscow Regional Duma and the Governor of the Moscow Region.
