Mike Pelton

Mike Pelton is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He played for four teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) during the 1990s.

Born on July 10, 1969, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Pelton began his junior hockey career in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with teams such as the New Westminster Bruins and Spokane Chiefs. He was selected by the Boston Bruins in the ninth round, 185th overall, of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.

Pelton made his professional debut in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Maine Mariners, the Boston Bruins' affiliate. He first appeared in the NHL during the 1991–92 season with the Boston Bruins. Known for his physical style of play and defensive reliability, Pelton split time between the NHL and AHL in the early part of his career.

Over his NHL career, Pelton played for the Boston Bruins (1991–1993), San Jose Sharks (1993–1995), New York Rangers (1995–1997), and Chicago Blackhawks (1997–1998). In 145 NHL regular-season games, he registered 3 goals, 12 assists, and 209 penalty minutes. After his time in the NHL, Pelton continued to play professional hockey in various minor and European leagues before concluding his career.
