Michael "Mike" Joseph Goff (born March 6, 1976) is a former American football offensive guard who played twelve seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Known for his durability and consistent performance, Goff was a starter for the majority of his career.
Early Life and College Career Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Goff attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. He played college football at the University of Iowa, where he was a standout offensive lineman for the Iowa Hawkeyes. During his collegiate career, Goff earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in both 1997 and 1998, establishing himself as one of the top interior linemen in the conference.
Professional Career Goff was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round (68th overall) of the 1998 NFL Draft.
- Cincinnati Bengals (1998–2003): Goff quickly earned a starting role with the Bengals, primarily playing right guard. He was a consistent presence on their offensive line for six seasons, known for his blocking prowess in both pass protection and run support.
- San Diego Chargers (2004–2008): In 2004, Goff signed with the San Diego Chargers.
