Michael John "Mike" Cortez (born June 24, 1982) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He played the point guard position in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and has represented the Philippines in international competition.
Early life and education
Cortez was born in the Philippines and attended the University of the East, where he played collegiate basketball for the UE Red Warriors in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He was recognized for his playmaking abilities and defensive skills during his university career.
Professional career
Cortez entered the PBA in 2005 after being selected by the Alaska Aces in the first round of the PBA draft. Over his career, he played for several teams, including:

Cortez represented the Philippines on the national basketball team, competing in events such as the 2011 Southeast Asian Games, where the team secured a gold medal.

Following his retirement from professional play, Cortez has been involved in basketball coaching and development programs within the Philippines.
