Mike Ammann (born February 21, 1971) is an American former professional soccer player who primarily played as a goalkeeper. His career spanned several Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Ammann played college soccer at California State University, Fullerton, where he gained recognition for his goalkeeping abilities. He was drafted by the Kansas City Wizards in the 1996 MLS College Draft, marking the beginning of his professional career in the inaugural season of Major League Soccer.
During his MLS tenure, Ammann played for a number of teams including the Kansas City Wizards, San Jose Clash, MetroStars (now New York Red Bulls), D.C. United, and the Los Angeles Galaxy. He was known for his consistent performances and shot-stopping, establishing himself as a reliable presence in goal. Following his retirement from professional play, Ammann has remained involved in the sport, often taking on coaching or administrative positions.
