Michel Tubiana

Michel Tubiana (5 July 1943 – 15 February 2021) was a French lawyer and human‑rights activist, notable for his leadership of the Ligue des droits de l'homme (LDH) and his involvement in legal advocacy concerning the Algerian War and other civil‑rights issues.

Early life and education
Michel Tubiana was born in Algiers, French Algeria, on 5 July 1943. He later moved to metropolitan France, where he pursued legal studies, ultimately obtaining a law degree and qualifying as an attorney.

Tubiana practiced law in Paris, specializing in cases involving civil liberties, political detainees, and historical injustices.
