He is best known as the founding member, lead vocalist, and lead guitarist of the Christian alternative rock band the 77s. Roe is also a founding member of the supergroup Lost Dogs and has released numerous solo albums, often under the moniker 7&7iS. His discography includes solo works such as More Miserable Than You’ll Ever Be (1989) and Gothic (2016), as well as extensive recordings with the 77s and Lost Dogs. Roe’s career, spanning from the early 1980s to the present, has been influential within the Christian rock scene.

Michael Roe (born 8 August 1955 in Naas, County Kildare, Ireland) is a former professional racing driver. He began his career in Formula Ford, winning the 1978 Formula Ford Festival. Roe progressed to British Formula Three in 1979, achieving two podium finishes and a ninth‑place overall finish in his rookie season. In 1983 he moved to the United States to compete in the Can‑Am series, where he won the 1984 championship, setting series records for wins (seven of ten races) and pole positions (ten). Roe later raced in the CART Championship Car series, making four starts in 1985 with a best finish of seventh at Portland and an eighth at Meadowlands. He attempted, but did not qualify, for the 1985 Indianapolis 500.
