Michael Murphy (born May 5, 1938) is an American film, television, and stage actor. He is known for his collaborations with directors Robert Altman and Woody Allen.
Murphy's career began in the 1960s with appearances in television series. He gained prominence in the 1970s, starring in several Altman films including MASH (1970), Brewster McCloud (1970), McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971), Nashville (1975), and Tanner '88 (1988).
