Michael Hegarty (born 1975) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Donegal county team. He was a regular member of the Donegal panel throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, occupying primarily defensive positions. Hegarty also represented his local club, Na Cealla Beaga (Killybegs), with which he won several Donegal Senior Football Championship titles.
During his inter‑county career, Hegarty participated in the 1998 and 1999 Ulster Senior Football Championships, contributing to Donegal's competitive performances in the provincial competition. He was part of the Donegal squad that reached the 2003 All‑Ireland Senior Football Championship semi‑final.
After retiring from playing, Hegarty remained involved in Gaelic football through coaching and mentorship roles at the club level. He is also noted for his work in promoting youth participation in the sport within County Donegal.
