Early life and education
Merima Ključo was born in Sarajevo, then part of the former Yugoslavia. She began studying the accordion at a young age and later enrolled at the Academy of Music, University of Sarajevo, where she completed a degree in classical music performance. Following the Bosnian War (1992–1995), she relocated to the United Kingdom. In London, she pursued postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music, focusing on composition and contemporary performance practices.
Musical career
Ključo is known for blending traditional Balkan folk music with contemporary classical, electronic, and experimental styles. She performs primarily on the accordion but also works with a range of instruments and digital sound‑design tools.
