Melvin Foster (born February 23 1971 in Washington, D.C.) is an American former heavyweight boxer. He is noted for a successful amateur career, during which he defeated former world champion Mike Weaver and two‑time title challenger Carl Williams.
Foster turned professional in 1992 and compiled an early undefeated streak before his first loss to Trevor Berbick in 1994. Subsequent high‑profile bouts included a decision defeat to Michael Moorer (1995) and losses to several prominent heavyweights such as Jimmy Thunder, Corey Sanders, Hasim Rahman, Derrick Jefferson, and Cedric Boswell. He retired from competition in 2005 after a TKO loss to Eddie Chambers.
