Melvin Barrera (born December 26, 1989) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder.
Early Life and Career Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Barrera began his professional career after being signed by the Kansas City Royals organization as an international free agent. He spent several years in their minor league system, primarily playing for their Rookie-level and Class A affiliates, including the Burlington Royals and Lexington Legends.
Independent and International Leagues After his time with the Royals organization, Barrera transitioned to independent baseball leagues, playing for teams such as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He also played in various international leagues, including the Mexican League (Liga Mexicana de Béisbol), where he was a prominent player for teams like the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna, Bravos de León, and Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos.
