Meera Vasudevan (born 29 January 1982) is an Indian actress and model who primarily works in Malayalam cinema, in addition to Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. She gained widespread recognition for her performances, particularly in the Malayalam film Perumazhakkalam (2004), for which she won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress.
Early life
Meera Vasudevan was born on 29 January 1982 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, into a Tamil Brahmin family. She completed her schooling in Mumbai.Career
Vasudevan began her career in modeling, featuring in various advertisements. Her acting debut was in the 2002 Tamil film Samurai, directed by Balaji Shakthivel. She continued to work in Tamil cinema and garnered critical acclaim for her role in Unnai Saranadainthaen (2003), which earned her the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Female Debut.Her breakthrough role came in 2004 with the Malayalam film Perumazhakkalam, where her portrayal of a woman fighting for her husband's life won her the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress. This performance established her as a prominent actress in the Malayalam film industry. She went on to star in other critically acclaimed Malayalam films such as Thanmathra (2005) opposite Mohanlal, Akashagopuram (2008), and Kaakki (2007).
Vasudevan also appeared in several Telugu films, including Golimaar (2010), and Hindi films like Runway (2009). Throughout her career, she has been appreciated for her versatility and ability to portray complex characters.
Personal life
Meera Vasudevan has been married three times. Her first marriage was to Vishal Agarwal, a cinematographer, in 2007, which ended in divorce in 2012. She then married actor John Kokken in 2012, and they had a son named Adish in 2013. This marriage also ended in divorce in 2017.
