Mattias Karlsson (orienteer)

Mattias Karlsson (born 1972) is a Swedish orienteer who achieved significant success at the international level, particularly in relay events at the World Orienteering Championships (WOC). He was a key member of the Swedish national orienteering team during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Career Karlsson represented Sweden in multiple World Orienteering Championships and European Orienteering Championships, demonstrating consistent performance in both individual and team competitions. While he competed in individual races, his most notable contributions were to the Swedish men's relay team, which earned him several major international medals.

His career highlights include a gold medal in the relay at the 2003 World Orienteering Championships held in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. He followed this with a bronze medal in the relay at the 2004 WOC in Västerås, Sweden, and a silver medal in the relay at the 2006 WOC in Aarhus, Denmark. These achievements solidified his reputation as a strong and reliable team competitor.
