Matías Vitkieviez

Early Career
He started his professional career with [[Servette FC]], making his debut in the early 2000s. After leaving Servette, he had spells with various lower-league Swiss clubs, including [[FC Meyrin]], [[CS Chênois]], and [[Étoile Carouge FC]], gaining experience and developing his attacking prowess.
Return to Servette
Vitkieviez returned to Servette FC in 2009, playing a crucial role in their promotion to the [[Swiss Super League]] in the 2010–11 season. His performances earned him wider recognition.
Neuchâtel Xamax
In January 2012, Vitkieviez transferred to [[Neuchâtel Xamax]] in the Swiss Super League. However, his tenure there was short-lived as the club faced severe financial difficulties and was declared bankrupt, leading to its exclusion from the league.
Grasshopper Club Zürich
Following the bankruptcy of Neuchâtel Xamax, Vitkieviez joined [[Grasshopper Club Zürich]] in February 2012. He quickly established himself as a valuable member of the squad. With Grasshoppers, he won the [[Swiss Cup]] in the 2012–13 season.
Later Career
After his time with Grasshoppers, Vitkieviez returned for a third spell with [[Servette FC]]. He later played for [[FC Le Mont]] and [[FC Stade Lausanne Ouchy]] before retiring from professional football.
International Career
Vitkieviez, being of Uruguayan descent, was eligible to represent both Switzerland and Uruguay. He represented Switzerland at the U-20 level. In 2012, he received a call-up to the senior [[Switzerland national football team]] by coach [[Ottmar Hitzfeld]] for a friendly match against [[Argentina national football team]], making his only international appearance for Switzerland in that game.
