Masashi Hamauzu (born January 19, 1971) is a Japanese composer, arranger, and pianist best known for his contributions to video game music. He has worked extensively with Square Enix (formerly Square) and has composed, arranged, and performed music for several titles in the Final Fantasy series, as well as other games.
Early life and education
Hamauzu was born in Osaka, Japan. He began piano lessons at a young age and later studied composition at the Osaka College of Music, graduating with a degree in music theory and composition.

Square (Square Enix) – Hamauzu joined Square in 1998 as a freelance composer and later became a full-time employee. His early work includes contributions to Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005), where he arranged and performed tracks originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu.
