Marvin D. Comisky (1917 – June 7, 2007) was an American attorney and philanthropist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a senior partner at the law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr & Thornburgh (now Wolf Block LLP) and held leadership positions within several professional and civic organizations.
Early life and education
Comisky was born in 1917 in Philadelphia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1940.
Legal career
After admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, Comisky joined the firm that would later become Wolf, Block, Schorr & Thornburgh, where he specialized in corporate, tax, and commercial law. He served as chairman of the firm’s management committee and was recognized for his work on major mergers and acquisitions, particularly in the banking and transportation sectors.
