Martina Laird

Martina Laird (born 1971) is a Trinidad‑born British actress who has worked extensively in television, film, and theatre. She is best known for her long‑running role as Dr. Karen Hollins in the BBC soap opera Doctors, a part she portrayed from 2009 until 2020, earning critical praise and a nomination for the British Soap Award for Best Actress.

Early life and education
Laird was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, and moved to the United Kingdom as a child. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 1994.
