Martin Ondrejka is a name shared by at least two notable Slovak individuals: a professional footballer and a geologist/mineralogist.
1. Martin Ondrejka (footballer) — Born 8 January 1983 in Zlaté Moravce, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia), he is a Slovak footballer who plays as a midfielder. He began his youth career at ViOn Zlaté Moravce (1995–1997) and later played for FK Machulince, TJ Calex Zlaté Moravce, and Slovan Bratislava. His senior career has been spent primarily with ViOn Zlaté Moravce in the Slovak Corgoň Liga (Slovak Superliga).
2. Martin Ondrejka (geologist) — Born 1976 in Martin, Slovakia, he is a Slovak petrologist and mineralogist. He holds the academic title of Associate Professor (doc.) and works at the Department of Mineralogy, Petrology and Economic Geology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava. He completed his master's degree in geology (1995–2000) and his PhD in petrology (2000–2004) at the same institution, where he served as an assistant professor (2003–2011) before becoming an associate professor in 2011.
His research focuses on accessory minerals in granitoids and associated magmatic and metamorphic rocks, rock-fluid interaction processes, and the alteration of accessory minerals such as monazite, xenotime, apatite, allanite, titanite, zircon, uraninite, thorite, and Nb-Ta minerals. He also studies post-magmatic to low-temperature (supergene) remobilization and fractionation of rare lithophile elements (REE, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, U, Th, Rb, Be, F, B). He is the discoverer of two new gadolinium-dominant minerals from Slovakia: monazite-(Gd) and xenotime-(Gd), and a co-author of lepersonnite-(Nd), marsaalamite-(Y), and elramlyite-(Ce).
Awards and honors include the Slovak Geological Society Award for the most significant geological work (2007–2008, category II; and 2022–2023, category I), membership in the Top Mineralogical-Petrological Team recognized by the Accreditation Commission of the Slovak Republic, the Silver Medal of Comenius University, and the Ján Pettko Award 2025 for scientific contribution and international promotion of Slovak geology.
