Martin Myšička (born 9 March 1970 in Příbram, then Czechoslovakia) is a Czech stage and film actor. Since 1997 he has been a permanent member of the Dejvické Divadlo, one of the Czech Republic’s leading contemporary theatre ensembles. He studied acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) and also completed studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, specialising in nuclear physics, before focusing on a performing‑arts career.
Career
Myšička’s early television work includes appearances in the series Kosmo (2016) and V.I.P. vraždy (2016‑2018). He has become a familiar face in Czech crime dramas, notably portraying judicial‑medical examiner Alex in Místo zločinu České Budějovice (from 2023) and taking recurring roles in Kriminálka 5 C (2019‑present) and Dukla 61 (2018). His theatre repertoire at Dejvické Divadlo spans both classical and contemporary productions, and he has also performed in television series such as Boží mlýny (2021) and Bez vědomí (2019).
In addition to acting, Myšička has directed stage productions; his directorial work was noted in 2009. He has participated in a variety of genres, from comedy (Čtvrtá hvězda, 2014) to historical drama (Černé vdovy, 2019‑present).
Awards and Recognition
In 1994 Myšička received the Alfréd Radok Award for Talent of the Year, a prestigious Czech theatre honour.
Personal Life
Myšička is married and has a daughter, Marie Anna, who has also pursued acting.
