Mark Poffley (born 22 May 1968) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. His professional career spanned from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s, most notably with Northampton Town, Oxford United, and Birmingham City.
Playing career
Poffley began his career as a trainee with Northampton Town. He made his professional debut for the club and quickly established himself as a key player in their defence. He was an integral part of the Northampton Town squad that won the Fourth Division title in the 1986–87 season under manager Graham Carr, gaining promotion to the Third Division.His impressive performances at Northampton earned him a move to Oxford United in 1989. He spent two seasons with Oxford before transferring to Birmingham City in 1991. After a brief spell at Birmingham, Poffley continued his playing career in non-league football before retiring.
