Mark Chamberlain (photographer)

Mark Chamberlain (born in Dubuque, Iowa) was an American photographer, installation artist, activist, and co-founder of the BC Space Gallery in Laguna Beach, California. He is best known for his experimental photographic techniques, often involving darkroom manipulation and large-format photography, and for his socially conscious artwork that addressed environmental issues, political concerns, and the human condition.

Chamberlain's artistic practice frequently incorporated site-specific installations and collaborative projects. He was a strong advocate for artistic freedom and community engagement, and the BC Space Gallery became a hub for avant-garde art and intellectual discourse in Southern California. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally, and he received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career.
