Mario Tolkmitt (born 30 October 1970) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.
Early Career and Youth Tolkmitt began his youth career with Berliner FC Dynamo (BFC Dynamo). He made his first appearance with the first team of BFC Dynamo, then known as FC Berlin, on 24 March 1990 in the DDR-Oberliga against HFC Chemie. He finished the 1989–90 season playing for BSG Bergmann-Borsig Berlin in the second-tier DDR-Liga.
Senior Career Tolkmitt was listed in the FC Berlin first-team squad at the start of the 1990–91 season but was loaned to SG Bergmann-Borsig during the autumn of 1990. He returned to FC Berlin for the 1991–92 season, becoming a regular player in the NOFV-Oberliga.
In 1992, Tolkmitt was signed by Bayer Leverkusen, where he played from 1992 to 1996. During his time with Bayer Leverkusen, he won the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) in 1993. He later played for Fortuna Düsseldorf from 1997 to 1998 before retiring.
