Mario Edwards Jr. (born March 29 1999) is an American football defensive end who has played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida State University before being selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Early life and education
Edwards was born in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. He attended Westfield High School in Houston, Texas, where he was a highly rated defensive prospect.
College career
Edwards enrolled at Florida State University in 2017. Over three seasons (2017–2019) he appeared in 33 games, recording 53 total tackles, 13.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He earned All-ACC honorable mention selections in his sophomore and junior years.
Professional career

Seattle Seahawks (2020–2022) – Edwards was drafted by the Seahawks in the fourth round (118th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He signed a four‑year rookie contract and contributed primarily as a rotational defensive end and special‑teams player. In his rookie season he appeared in 13 games, tallying eight tackles and one sack.

New York Giants (2023) – After being released by Seattle in August 2022, Edwards was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants. He participated in the 2023 regular season as a depth defensive end and recorded a combined total of 12 tackles.
Personal life
He is the son of former NFL defensive end Mario Edwards Sr., who played for the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and other teams from 1995 to 2005.
