Marilyn Denis

Marilyn Denis (born July 1, 1958) is a Canadian television and radio personality. She is widely recognized for her extensive career in broadcasting, particularly as the long-time host of popular daytime television shows and a highly successful morning radio program.

Denis began her career in radio, working at stations in British Columbia before moving to Toronto. She gained widespread prominence as the co-host of the Roger & Marilyn morning show on CHUM-FM, a role she held for over 30 years alongside Roger Ashby, from 1986 until her retirement from radio in 2018. The show consistently ranked as one of the most popular morning radio programs in the Greater Toronto Area.

In television, Denis first rose to national prominence as the host of the Citytv daytime talk show Cityline from 1989 to 1996. Her easygoing and relatable style quickly made her a household name. In 2010, she launched The Marilyn Denis Show on CTV, a daily lifestyle and entertainment talk show that featured celebrity interviews, fashion segments, cooking demonstrations, and home decor tips. The show became a staple of Canadian daytime television, earning Denis several Gemini Award and Canadian Screen Award nominations and wins for Best Host in a Lifestyle Program or Series. The Marilyn Denis Show concluded its run in June 2023 after 13 seasons.

Throughout her career, Marilyn Denis has been celebrated for her warm, authentic, and engaging presence, making her a beloved figure in Canadian media. Her longevity and influence in both radio and television have cemented her status as one of Canada's most recognizable and respected broadcasters. She was inducted into the Canadian Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2017.
