Mariia Yaremak (born 7 April 1997 in Obolonnya, Ivano‑Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian composer, pianist, arranger, and music editor. She has performed in numerous concerts and international projects, including the Eurovision Song Contest, and has contributed music to films, orchestras, and charitable events across Europe, the United States, and Ukraine.
Early Life and Education
Yaremak attended the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv State Music Lyceum (2012–2014). She then enrolled at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy, initially studying piano. After developing inflammation in her hand muscles, she transferred to the Academy’s Faculty of Theory and Composition, studying under Bohdana Frolyak (2014–2018).
Career
Professional Beginnings
Early in her career, Yaremak digitized scores of Ukrainian and foreign composers, notably collaborating with the Lviv Philharmonic on the works of Myroslav Skoryk. She quickly became involved in major orchestral projects such as Cadenza European Art Productions, Lviv Orchestra Fashion, Leopolis Jazz Fest, and Lviv MozArt.
Activities Following the Russian Invasion of Ukraine (2022‑present)
The 2022 Russian invasion disrupted Yaremak’s domestic engagements. She relocated to the United Kingdom under the “Homes for Ukraine” program, where she initially worked in a law firm to support herself. During this period she co‑produced the documentary performance Sound of Ukraine with vocalist Isabella Ivashchenko, combining original music, visual footage, and personal testimonies.
Since 2022, Yaremak has organized and performed in more than 40 charity concerts in the UK, France, the United States, Ireland, and other countries, raising funds for Ukrainian humanitarian aid. Notable appearances include performances at St Albans Cathedral, a royal charity event attended by the Duke of Edinburgh, and a concert at Bath Abbey marking the second anniversary of the invasion.
