Marguerite Manuela Effa Mfegue (born January 19, 1997) is a Cameroonian professional basketball player who plays as a forward. She currently plays for Azkoitia Azepeitia ISB women's team in Spain.
Personal Background
Effa was born in Cameroon and is the daughter of Parfait Effa, a Cameroonian judoka who competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She stands 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) tall.
High School
She attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, California, where she averaged 23.4 points and 12.2 rebounds during her four-year career. She was a two-time selection as the Los Angeles City Section Player of the Year and helped lead her team to a conference championship in 2015.
College Career
Effa began her collegiate career at the University of Southern California (USC), playing three seasons for the Trojans from 2015 to 2018. Her best season was her freshman year (2015–2016), where she averaged 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
She then transferred as a graduate student to the University of Nevada, Reno, where she played for the Wolf Pack during the 2019–2020 season. She appeared in all 31 games, making 14 starts, and scored in double figures in 15 of those games. She was named a MW Scholar-Athlete.

Effa has played professionally in multiple countries, including Spain, France, and Greece. She has suited up for teams such as:

National Team Career
Effa represents the Cameroon women's national basketball team. She participated in the 2021 Women's AfroBasket, where she won a bronze medal with her team. During the tournament, she averaged 13.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. She is also listed on the roster for the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2025 qualifiers.
