Marcus Roberson

Marcus Roberson (born October 4, 1992) is an American former professional [[American football]] [[cornerback]]. He played college football for the [[Florida Gators]] and was selected by the [[St. Louis Rams]] in the second round of the [[2014 NFL Draft]]. He also played for the [[Cleveland Browns]].

Early Life and College Career

Born in [[Fort Lauderdale, Florida]], Roberson attended [[St. Thomas Aquinas High School]] where he was a highly touted defensive back. He was rated as a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and committed to the [[University of Florida]] to play college football.

At Florida, Roberson played for the [[Florida Gators football]] team from 2011 to 2013. He quickly became a starter and was a key contributor to the Gators' defense. During his college career, he recorded 62 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 3 interceptions, and 12 pass breakups over 29 games. After his junior season in 2013, he declared for the NFL Draft.

Professional Career

St. Louis Rams

Roberson was drafted by the [[St. Louis Rams]] in the second round (50th overall) of the [[2014 NFL Draft]]. He signed his rookie contract with the team on May 21, 2014. As a rookie, he appeared in 12 games, starting 7, and recorded 35 total tackles, 5 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble.

In 2015, Roberson played in 10 games, starting 2, contributing 13 tackles and 1 pass deflection. He was waived by the Rams on September 3, 2016, during final roster cuts.

Cleveland Browns

On September 5, 2016, Roberson was signed to the practice squad of the [[Cleveland Browns]]. He was promoted to the active roster on November 15, 2016. He played in 4 games for the Browns, recording 3 total tackles. He was waived by the Browns on December 13, 2016.
