Marcel Marin (1923 – 2011) was a Romanian poet, essayist, and translator. He was born in Romania in 1923 and died in 2011. Marin was associated with the post‑World War II literary milieu in Romania and contributed to several literary magazines of the period. His work included the publication of multiple poetry collections and the translation of literary texts from French and Russian into Romanian. He is recognized as part of the cohort of Romanian writers who emerged in the 1950s, often referred to as the “55 generation,” and he played a role in the development of contemporary Romanian poetry and literary criticism.
