Mamadou Samb

Mamadou Samb (born 4 March 1990) is a Senegalese professional basketball player who primarily plays the power forward position. He has competed in several European leagues, most notably in Lithuania and Spain, and has represented Senegal in international competition.

Early life and education
Samb was born in Dakar, Senegal. He moved to Spain at a young age to pursue basketball development and entered the youth system of FC Barcelona's basketball academy. He later obtained Spanish citizenship, allowing him to play as a domestic player in European leagues.

Professional career

  • 2008–2010: CB Granada (Spain) – Samb began his senior professional career with the Spanish club CB Granada, appearing primarily for its reserve team in the lower divisions.

  • 2010–2012: Lietuvos Rytas (Lithuania) – He signed with Lietuvos Rytas, a prominent club in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroCup. During his tenure, Samb contributed off the bench, averaging modest scoring and rebounding figures while gaining experience in continental competition.

  • 2012–2015: Various Spanish clubs – Returning to Spain, Samb played for several teams in the Liga EBA and LEB Oro, including CB Cáceres and Albacete Basket, where he saw increased playing time and posted improved statistical outputs.

  • 2015–present: Lower‑division European teams – From 2015 onward, Samb has competed for clubs in the Spanish fourth tier (Liga EBA) and other European lower‑division sides, serving as a veteran presence and mentor for younger players.
