Maksim Mineyev

Maksim Valeryevich Mineyev (Russian: Максим Валерьевич Минеев; born October 3, 2000) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He was drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights in the fourth round, 127th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Early Life and Junior Career Mineyev was born in Yekaterinburg, Russia. He developed through the junior hockey system of his hometown club, Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. He played for their MHL (Minor Hockey League) affiliate, Avto Yekaterinburg, demonstrating strong defensive capabilities and leadership potential from a young age.

Professional Career Mineyev made his KHL debut with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg during the 2019–2020 season. As a defensive-minded blueliner, he is known for his physical play, shot-blocking, and strong positioning. While not a primary offensive contributor, he provides stability and reliability on the backend. He has continued to be a regular presence on Avtomobilist's roster, gaining valuable experience in one of the top professional leagues outside of North America.

International Play Mineyev has represented Russia on the international stage at various junior levels. He participated in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and other tournaments, showcasing his skills against top young talent from around the world.

NHL Rights Following his selection by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Mineyev's NHL rights are held by the Golden Knights. As of early 2024, he continues to play in the KHL, but remains a prospect with potential for a future move to North America.
