Mỹ Đình is a major urban area and administrative locality situated in the Nam Từ Liêm district of Hanoi, Vietnam. Historically a commune within the former Từ Liêm district, it underwent significant redevelopment in the early 21st century, transitioning from a largely agricultural area into a primary center for sports, commerce, and administration within the capital city.
Administrative History In 2013, following the reorganization of the Từ Liêm district into two separate districts (Bắc Từ Liêm and Nam Từ Liêm), the Mỹ Đình commune was officially divided into two distinct wards: Mỹ Đình 1 and Mỹ Đình 2. These wards are located in the western part of Hanoi and serve as a focal point for the city’s westward urban expansion.
Infrastructure and Landmarks Mỹ Đình is most notably recognized as the site of the Mỹ Đình National Stadium. Completed in 2003 to serve as the centerpiece for the 22nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), the stadium is the home venue for the Vietnam national football team and hosts major international sporting events and large-scale entertainment performances.

It has also become a prominent residential hub for Hanoi's expatriate community, particularly those from South Korea.
Transportation Mỹ Đình is served by major arterial roads, including Phạm Hùng Street and the Thăng Long Boulevard. It is also positioned along planned routes for Hanoi’s burgeoning mass rapid transit (MRT) system, intended to improve connectivity between the western suburbs and the historic city center.
